Links

Our website may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these other sites.

Comments

When you leave a comment on our site, the data entered in the comment form, as well as your IP address and your browser’s user agent, are collected to help us detect unwanted comments.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you are using the Gravatar service. The privacy policy of the Gravatar service can be found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After validating your comment, your profile picture will be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the site, we advise you to avoid uploading images that contain EXIF data from GPS coordinates. People visiting your site can download and extract location data from these images.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you will be offered to save your name, email address and site in cookies. This is only for your convenience so that you don’t have to enter this information if you leave another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

If you go to the login page, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It does not contain any personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set a number of cookies to save your login information and screen preferences. The lifespan of a login cookie is two days, that of a screen option cookie is one year. If you tick “Remember me”, your login cookie will be stored for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.

When you edit or publish a posting, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not include any personal data. It simply shows the ID of the post you just edited. It expires after a day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Content embedded from other sites behaves in the same way as if the visitor were going to that other site.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking tools, track your interactions with this embedded content if you have a connected account on their website.

Use and disclosure of your personal data

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long your data is stored

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows you to automatically recognize and approve subsequent comments instead of leaving them in the moderation queue.

For accounts that register on our site (if any), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All accounts can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their login). Site managers can also view and edit this information.

The rights you have over your data

If you have an account or have left comments on the site, you may request to receive a file containing all the personal data we have about you, including the personal data you have provided to us. You can also request the deletion of personal data about you. This does not take into account data stored for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments can be checked using an automated spam detection service.

Solid Security

A cookie named “itsec_interstitial_browser” is created to track a user’s login process to implement enhanced security features.

Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie that facilitates compatibility with other login methods. This cookie does not contain any personal data and expires after one hour.

Security Logs

Visitors’ IP addresses, logged-in user IDs, and login attempt IDs are conditionally logged to check for malicious activity and protect the site from specific types of attacks. Examples of sign-in conditions include sign-in attempts, logout requests, suspicious URL requests, site content changes, and password updates. This information is kept for 60 days.

Who we share your data with

When you initiate the security check, solidwp.com will be contacted to check if your site supports TLS/SSL requests. No personal data will be sent to solidwp.com during this test. Requests will only contain the URL of the site. You can check the details of SolidWP’s privacy policy.

This site is scanned for potential malware and vulnerabilities by SolidWP Site Scanner. We do not send personal information to the scanner; however, the scanner may find personal information posted publicly (such as in comments) during the scan.

How long we keep your data

Security logs are retained for 60 days.

Where we send your data

This site is part of a network of sites that protect themselves against brute force attacks. To enable this protection, the IP address of visitors who attempt to connect to the site is shared with a service provided by solid.com. To learn more about privacy, please see SolidWP’s privacy policy.

Litespeed

This site uses caching in order to facilitate a faster response time and a better user experience. Caching potentially stores a copy of every web page displayed on that site. All cache files are temporary and are never accessible to a third party unless necessary to obtain technical support from the cache extension provider. Cache files expire on a schedule set by the site administrator, but can easily be purged by the administrator before they expire naturally, if necessary. Please see https://quic.cloud/privacy-policy/ for more details.

Complianz

This website uses Privacy Suite for WordPress from Complianz to collect and store consent based on browser and device. For this feature, your IP address is anonymized and stored in our database. This service does not process any personally identifiable information or share any data with the service provider. For more information, see the Complianz privacy statement.

Jetpack Stats

Data used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com user name (if logged in), user agent, visit URL, referring URL, event timestamp, browser language, country code. Important: The site owner does not have access to any of this information through this feature. For example, a site owner may see that a specific post has been viewed 285 times, but they can’t see which specific users/accounts have viewed that post. Statistical logs — containing visitors’ IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this functionality.

Tracked activity: Post and page views, video plays (if videos are hosted by WordPress.com), outbound link clicks, referring URLs and search engine terms, and countries. When this feature is enabled, Jetpack also tracks performance on each page load that includes the JavaScript file used for tracking statistics. This is exclusively for tracking overall performance on Jetpack sites to ensure that our plugin and code are not causing performance issues. This includes tracking page load times and asset load time (image files, JavaScript files, CSS files, etc.). The site owner has the option to force this feature to respect the visitors’ DNT settings. By default, DNT is currently not honored.
